How CME Tracker works

Track your continuing medical education against the requirements of every state you're licensed in — one state or all fifty and DC.

Walkthrough

Getting started

  1. Sign in. Enter your email and we send a magic link — no password to remember. The link is good for 30 minutes and signs you into your account.
  2. Set up your profile. On the Profile page, add your name, physician type (MD or DO), and every state you hold a license in. For each state, enter the license issue date — that's what sets your renewal cycle, so the runway and deadlines are accurate.
  3. Add your CME. Go to Add CME and upload your certificate PDFs. The app reads each one, pulls out the hours, date, and topic, and files it automatically. You can upload up to 30 files at a time.
  4. Check your dashboard. Each licensed state shows where you stand for the current cycle — hours done, hours left, and how much runway you have before the deadline. Open any state for the full breakdown by topic and credit type.
  5. Review flagged credits. Anything the reader wasn't sure about is marked Needs review on the CME Credits page. Open it, confirm or correct the categories, and it counts toward your totals.

Frequently asked questions

No. When you upload a PDF we read it in memory, extract the details we need, and then discard the file. What we keep is the CME record — the hours, date, issuing organization, and topic — shown on your CME Credits page. That page is your record of what's counted. Keep your original certificates yourself in case you're audited.

We fingerprint each file, so an exact duplicate is recognized and skipped — it won't be double-counted. The upload results will tell you which files were added and which were already on file.

All 50 states and DC. Requirements are built from each state's own statutes and board rules, including the topic mandates and AOA Category 1 minimums that apply to DOs.

Some states use CE Broker to receive CME reporting; most don't. Where a state doesn't require reporting to a central system, we assume the certificates in your account are your proof if you're audited. CE Broker is a helpful cross-check, but it can be wrong — the state's own statute is always the source of truth, and we flag any discrepancy.

The reader couldn't confidently categorize that certificate — usually the topic wasn't clear from the document. Open it from the CME Credits page, pick or correct the categories, and it will count toward the right requirements.

Yes. On the CME Credits page, use the trash button on any row to delete it. The credit is removed and no longer counts toward your compliance, and your dashboard re-analyzes automatically.

From the license issue date you enter for each state, combined with that state's cycle length. That's why the issue date matters — get it right and your deadlines and runway are accurate.

Nothing is lost. Your account stays put. Come back any time, sign in with a new magic link to the same email, and everything is exactly where you left it.
